The Cell Biology Microscopy Facility was founded in 2015 to provide the Harvard Medical School community with access to specialized, advanced light microscopes, as well as expertise and assistance in experimental design using these new techniques.

Microscope access procedure

1. CONSULTATION

The first step is an in-person consultation with the director to determine the most appropriate microscope for your needs and to discuss experimental strategies.

2. TRAINING

When your sample is ready, you will receive hands on training at the microscope with a member of the facility.

3. TEST RUN

After training, you will have a “test run” where someone will be available to assist you should you need help.

4. INDEPENDENCE

After completing your test session, you have 24/7 access and are free to use the microscope whenever you please! (Time limitations apply)
